VocabularySpellingCity GIVEAWAY

VocabularySpellingCity is one of my favorite educational sites on the web. This award winning site's mission is to provide efficient learning of literacy skills and word study. I have had the honor of working with this site for over a year. My journey with VocabularySpellingCity began as a user. I would never endorse a product that I wasn't passionate about. Why do I love VocabularySpellingCity?

  • I am provided with free online games, printables, and resources for my weekly spelling and vocabulary lessons. You can create your own lists from their database of over 42,000 words, our you use one of their precreated lists found under the Teacher Resources tab.

  • The games work perfectly on our interactive whiteboard. My students play the games using their spelling words daily during our literacy centers. They never tire of the games.

  • The site makes differentiation easy. Each week, I have three separate lists going in my classroom based on student needs. With the assignments feature, I can simply provide each child his/her appropriate list.

  • Weekly tests are given on VocabularySpellingCity. That means no calling out words and no grading! With a Premium Membership, each child's weekly test scores are saved!

  • I could keep going and going about all the great features of VocabularySpellingCity. But, now to introduce the fun part! You have a chance to win a free Premium Membership to Vocabulary SpellingCity valued at $49.99. This will give you 25 student licenses for one calendar year.

You can enter by leaving a comment for each of the following. Each comment will count as one entry, so make sure you make separate posts. Please include your email address, so I can contact you if you win. The contest will end on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 5:00 PM CST.
    1. Leave a comment of why you love VocabularySpellingCity.
    2. Follow my blog (or tell me you are a current follower) using the Join This Site button on the left.

I haven't persuaded teachers to use it for their spelling tests yet only because of the limited access to computers. Our school just started an iPad pilot so things are changing.. We can use Spelling city on the iPads by using an app called Rover. Sweet!

One of my favorite reasons for using Vocabulary Spelling City was that if a student was absent on the day of his spelling test, I'd have him make it up on line.
