Adding Tabs to Blogger

Have you noticed how some blogs have each topic of their blog organized neatly under tabs at the top of their pages? Would you like to know how to do that?  It is super easy!

1)Go to DESIGN at the top of your blog.
2)Select PAGES in the left column.
3)Choose NEW PAGE at the top of the screen.
4)Select BLANK PAGE.
5)Name your page, and add your information.
6)Click PUBLISH.
7)Change SHOW PAGES AS to the location where you want the tabs to show. I chose TOP TABS.
8)Click SAVE ARRANGEMENT on the right of your screen.

Viola! That's it!

  8. Do I then manually add the content from each story, each time into the page? That doesn't seem to cover the problem.
Is there a way to label each story so it automatically gets filed under certain tabs?

  11. I really hope you have an answer. Like a few others here, what I want is a tab that can be clicked and it will have a whole list of pages/blog posts on that tabbed subject. Does that make sense?

Is that possible? Thanks so much. ~K

  69. Where is "Show pages as" here? It doesn't show anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  70. As the person above me said the "Show Pages As" button is no longer there in Blogger's newer format. Do you know how to do this in the new format? Please share, if you can.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I found the answer. Apparently, you know have to add a widget in the "Layout" format. Here is a link that tells how to do that part:
    http://buzz.blogger.com/2014/02/making-it-easier-to-manage-pages-on.html

    ReplyDelete
  72. Okay, so they are not super clear in that post as I discovered when actually doing it....
You will need to go to "Layout" and add a "Add a Gadget". When that pops us you choose the "Pages" gadget and follow the steps on that little pop-up. Once you finish and close the pop-up, then you will be back on the "Layout" page and you will see your new added gadget there. You can then hoover over the gadget and the little moving arrows will appear and you can click and drag it to the top if you want your tabs to show up along the top of your blog. At the top you can choose to "Preview Page" and "Save Arrangement". And then, you are done. I have not moved on to the details of getting what you want on the page, so I can not help there.
