If your kids received tablets from Santa, you will want to download the SpellingCity app. The app is available for iPads, Kindles, and Android devices.

There are 5 new games for Premium Members, and lots of fun games for free!

I have used VocabularySpellingCity with the students in my classroom for over five years. In fact, my entire school now has premium memberships for every teacher. I was so impressed with the site and how it affected student learning that I shared it through various social media platforms. I am now compensated to work with VocabularySpellingCity after school as a social media consultant.

I've been thinking lately about having my 6th graders use this website to play around with and practice their individual spelling words each week. How do you use it in your classroom?

Shannon, my 4th graders played the games everyday on our interactive whiteboard as a literacy center. Once you enter the words under your teacher account, they have access to them online at home or on their devices. I would give them their tests online. It was easy to differentiate their lists and would grade them for me! There are also printables and handwriting sheets you can use. I would use the site for our story vocabulary and math vocabulary. Check the "Teacher Resources" tab on the site for lots of extras!
